Hi, everyone! Long time no blog, eh? Unfortunately, I had a lot of things going on in my personal life over the last few months and needed to take a small hiatus from crafting and blogging but I want to thank everyone who sent me messages and comments during my absence. It was so sweet of ya'll to think of me while I was away. Thank you so much for all of your patience and thoughtfulness! It meant so much to me.
And now for a project...
My husband gifted me a Silhouette Cameo for my birthday and I've been having so much fun with it! They are some very cute Valentine's Day items in the Silhouette Online store so I decided to make a few home décor pieces and decorate our bedroom.
I made up the bed with red, French-striped sheets...
...and created a simple banner using heart-shaped doilies and a Valentine's Day themed font.
The doilies were cut at 8" each and the font was cut at 4.25". The font is a free font called XOXO; I downloaded it from dafont.com. I used my crop-o-dile to punch two small holes in each doily, ran two pieces of twine through each hole and tied the banner directly to the bed posts.
Finally, I created this cute "Keep Calm and Kiss Me" plaque. The plaque background and text were cut at 8.5"x11" and adhered to a 9"x11.5" piece of heavy-weight chipboard that I covered in matching red cardstock. The plaque came with a standard heart shape but I decided to use the kissing silhouette heart, instead.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!!
