Whimsical Wednesday Design Team Post - "Funny Faces" 12x12 Double Layout

Edit: This project was featured in the August 9, 2011 issue of the Cricut Chirp!

Hi, everyone! Time for another Whimsical Wednesday scrapbook challenge! This week features Challenge #17 - "Sense of Humor;" the layout must include something funny (photos, images, etc) and/or include words that relate to humor (laugh, giggle, chuckle, funny, hysterical, etc).

This layout was created for my niece; I wanted to create a fun and simple layout to display all the funny expressions and photographic bloopers we've caught on film. This is a standard 12"x12" double layout featuring eight 2.5"x3.5" photo mats, one 4"x4" photo mat and one 4"x6" photo mat.

The film strips were cut from the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge. I cut the background photo mats by hand, adhered them to the layout and popped the film strip up on foam. This will make it much easier to slip in a photo at a later date.

I used the Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch to create an accent border. The camera was cut from the Pack Your Bags cartridge...

...the font is from the Robotz cartridge...

...and the tag was cut from the Sweet Treats cartridge.

I combined two different stamp sets in order to create this journaling tag.

Please stop by and check out all the other wonderful projects the Whimsical Wednesday Design Team has created this week! I hope to see you playing along, as well!

Products used:
Cricut cartridges: Mickey and Friends, Pack Your Bags, Robotz and Sweet Treats
Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch
Autumn Leaves Clear Stamps - For the Record
Studio G Clear Stamp
Paper: DCWV - Blossoms and Butterflies and Recollections cardstock

Such a gorgeous layout! I have the same stack of paper and always look at it wondering how I can make it work, but you just ROCKED it! Thanks for the inspiration. Such a great template for using a lot of photos in one layout too. Love that!
