Hi, everyone! Today is very exciting because this is my very first time participating as a Design Team Member for Whimsical Wednesday! This week we are focusing on scrapbook pages with interactive or movable elements.
I have been married for just over five years but I have yet to scrap any of my wedding photos. I had tentatively began a few pages but quickly abandoned them because they didn't capture the style that I was striving for. And then I discovered mini-albums. I fell in love with the interactive elements and hands-on features of mini albums but wanted to have a full size 12"x12" wedding album...
So, I created a 12"x12" paper bag album! I haven't seen this done before but I'm very excited about it. I bought full-size paper bags online, cut them to size and added two pieces of heavy-weight chipboard for the front and back covers. I have punched three holes throughout but I'm waiting until the book is complete to decide how I will bind it.
I have so many options with the book: I can create flip-up pages, fold-out pages, page inserts and all sorts of interactive features.
I really wanted to create the feeling of a vintage storybook so DCWV's Once Upon a Time paperstack is absolutely perfect for this project. I've heard a lot of people say they found this paper challenging to work with because it is already so heavily decorated but I love all of the little details.
I layered one of the coordinating chipboard pieces on top of a matching image to create a shadow effect.
I added some Prima bling, a small metal key...
...some Webster's Pages journaling cards and a Tim Holtz time piece. I've stamped our wedding date on one of the journaling cards and set the time of our wedding ceremony on the clock.
Underneath the photo mat, I've created a slider card that can be slid in and out to reveal a stamped image.
I used the Cricut Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut cartridge to create several different flowers. Some are single and some are layered. All of them have been inked and embellished with pearls.
In the center of the large flower, I used a wax seal to stamp our monogram.
I love the way this page has turned out and I can't wait to continue with my wedding book!
