"Happy Day" 12x12 Single Layout

Edit: This project was featured on Patches of Pink!

This project was created for the Cricut Circle May Monthly Challenge (Tic Tac Toe Challenge: must use a sun shape, ric rac, and a flower shape somewhere on your project), the Frosted Designs' Fabulous Friday Challenge, the Peachy Keen Stamps' Let's Face it Friday: Designer's Choice ChallengeMy Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge and Patches of Pink's Link Up Party.

This is a 12"x12" Single layout featuring two photo mats. The large background frame and the photo frames were both cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge at 10.5" and 6" respectively. The top layers of the photo frames have been popped up on foam on three sides so that a photo can easily be slipped inside and adhered. The ric rak was cut from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge at 1.25", layered and trimmed to fit.

The title is cut from the American Alphabet cartridge at 2.75".

The sun was cut from the Celebrate with a Flourish  cartridge at 3", stamped with a Peachy Keen face stamp and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

The flowers were cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge at 1.75"...

...and 1.5".

"Vintage Dress Form" Birthday Card

Edit: The project was featured in the May 31, 2011 issue of the Cricut Chirp!

This project was created for the Birthday Sundaes' Challenge #10 - Pearls and Lace.

As soon as I saw this prompt, I knew that I wanted to use the dress form from the Summer in Paris cartridge and create a romantic, vintage-style birthday card. I started with a standard 5"x7" card and layered it with designer paper. The background frame was cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge at 5.25" and wrapped with twine.

The corner pieces were cut from the Storybook cartridge at 1.5".

The dress form was cut at 5.75" and I adhered several layers of lace on top of each other to create a tiered skirt.

The sentiment frame was also cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge at 2.25".

All of the cuts were inked and popped up on foam for added dimension.

"Life is Good" 12x12 Double Layout

This week I'm the featured guest designer for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's Challenge #61 - Blue Skies! The challenge was to create a project with the color blue and at least one cloud shape. I was really excited about this prompt because I love to create scene layouts and I'm very happy with the way this project turned out.

This is a standard 12"x12" double layout featuring three 4"x4" photo mats and one 4"x6" photo mat. I used the Martha Stewart Vintage Floral punches to create a doily frame and adhered it to an orange cardstock background. All of the paper used in this layout is from the My Mind's Eye "Where the Heart Is" paper stack.

The title was cut from the American Alphabet cartridge at 2" and 2.5" respectively.

The sun was cut from the Mickey and Friends cartridge at 3" and the clouds were cut from the Serenade cartridge at 2". The bird was also cut from the Serenade cartridge at 2".

The tree was cut from the Serenade cartridge at 8" and the house was cut from the Sugar and Spice cartridge at 5.5". Both layers of grass were cut from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge at 2.25", layered and trimmed to fit.

The second tree was cut from the Serenade cartridge at 8.5". The owl, nest and kite were all cut from the Sugar and Spice cartridge at 1.75", .75" and 3.5" respectively.

The wagon was cut from the Sugar and Spice cartridge at 1.75" and the small grass tufts were cut from the Create a Critter cartridge at 1.5" and 1.75". All cuts have been inked and popped up on foam.

I hope you enjoy this project and please stop by the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see all the other projects and entries.

"Cupcakes and Rosettes" Birthday Card

This project was created for the Birthday Sundaes' Challenge #9 - Circles.

The challenge for this project was to create a birthday card with three circles. So I decided to make some handmade paper rosettes. The rosettes were made with three 1.25"x12" strips of paper scored at each .25".

The cupcake were cut from the American Alphabet cartridge at 3" and hand altered to give them more layers.

Everything on this card was inked for added dimension.

I finished off the inside of the card with a white liner and a co-ordinating strip of designer paper.

Cricut cartridges: American Alphabet
Fiskars Border Punch - Threading Water
Paper: The Paper Studio - Birthday Stack and Recollections cardstock

"Sweet Baby" Note Card Set

This project was created for My Pink Stamper's National Scrapbook Day Challenge #12.

Sorry for the picture quality of these...the sun was already going down and I do not have photo-quality light in my house.

For this project, I decided to create a set of baby-themed note cards. New Arrival was the first cartridge I ever bought and it's still one of my favorites. I think these images are so cute. The cards are cut from New Arrival at 5" and then I added a second scalloped border on the bottom for added interest. The top note shapes are cut from the Accent Essentials cartridge at 3". The rattle is cut at 2"...

...and the baby carriage is cut at 3.25".

For this card, I cut the rounded square from Accent Essentials at 2.75" and the outfit at 2".

The cards are embellished with ribbons and rhinestones and the cuts are popped up on foam.

Cricut cartridges: New Arrival and Accent Essentials
Paper: K&Company - Snuggle Bug and Itsy Bitsy Baby Girl

All of the cuts are from the Country Life cartridge; the title was cut at 3" and doodle stitched...

The strawberries were cut at 1.5" and 1.75"...
