This layout was created for the Bitten by the Bug 2 Hearts Challenge to use at least two cuts from the Cricut Lovestruck cartridge; the Made by Momo Tuesday Challenge to use the colors black, white and hot pink and at least one heart image; and the Crafting with Christina Valentine Day Project to create a Valentines Day Project that was not a card.
Lovestuck is one of my favorite cartridges but the cuts are so intricate that it can definitely be a challenge to work with. I went through more cardstock than I would like to attempt in order to find the right speed, pressure and size to make these cuts work. In the end, I found that the intricate cuts worked best when I lowered my pressure to four and my speed to one.
This is a 12"x12" layout with two 4"x6" photo mats. The lettering is from the Storybook cartridge and cut at 2". This is probably my favorite font. It's so beautiful and surprisingly versatile.
The "word heart" is cut a 6" and the "heart within a heart" is cut a 7.75"...
...the cupid was cute at 5" and the rose was cut at 6".
The envelope was cut from the Wild Card cartridge at 4.5" and the liner was embossed with the Sizzix Love Set embossing folder. The "heart silhouette" was cut at 3.75" and the "cameo heart" was cut and 3.5".
As usual, the lettering and most cuts are popped up on foam to add dimension.
