A Few More "Embossed Only" Cards...

I was so happy with the way this card turned out that I decided to experiment with the design a bit and play around with some more of my embossing folders. I usually use my embossing folders to add texture to the background of cards or to add texture to the layers of my cricut cuts. So, I've never really been sure how to use my image folders versus my patterned folders. I have a few of the Cuttlebug embossing folder sets and while I really love the image designs, I wasn't sure I would ever use them. I was really happy to come up with a design that made these embossed images the main feature of the card so while I was avoiding doing laundry and avoiding organizing the mess on my craft table, I perfected the measurements on these cards and broke out a few of my more challenging image folders.

The first card features the Queen of Hearts folder from the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Set, Love is in the Air. I embossed the image onto a 4"x5.5" piece of red pearl cardstock and layered that onto a piece of 4.25"x5.75" blush pink cardstock. The card is cut 6"x9.25" and scored at 4.5". The liner of the card is cut at 5.75"x10" and scored at 5". I used the Martha Stewart Lace Heart Border Punch for the edge.

I didn't add a sentiment to the inside of this card but I think it would make a cute Valentines Day or Good Luck card.

For the second card, I featured the Chandelier image from the Love is in the Air set and opted for a slightly different design.

I embossed the image onto a piece of 4"x5.5" black cardstock and used a corner punch on all four corners. I layered this onto a piece of metallic gold cardstock and added that layer to another custom cut card. This card was cut at 6"x11.25" and scored at 5". I used the Martha Stewart Iron Gate border punch to punch the top layer of the card. The inside of the card is lined with a piece 5"x5.75" metallic gold cardstock.

I used a swirly thank you stamp for the inside of the card but I think you could use it for several different occasions. Wouldn't this make a cute dinner party invite?

Faith, the two cards are just fabulous. The red, the black.... both pack a whallop with the design and the inside of each card. .
